The Practice of Good Judgment
Developing and Disciplining Your Judgment
Activity 1 – Practicing of Good Judgment Audit
This audit is a tool you can work with throughout your learning journey with Catalytic Thinking Labs. Doing a Good Judgment Audit before you explore other labs will give you a reference point as you grow.
This is an ongoing self-assessment practice that will strengthen your confidence over time, especially if you take a disciplined approach to it.
This tool helps you look at two questions:
-
- How can you increase your confidence in your judgment by developing a disciplined practice?
- What new habits would you like to develop, personally and professionally?
Recommendation
Repeat this audit at the end of every certificate course.
Compare and contrast your new audits with your original audit.
Step 1
On a large sheet of paper, make a knowledge map to explore the four practices of good judgment. Arrange your map anyway you want.
Step 2
For each practice, rate yourself on a scale of 1-10. Evaluate how you think the practice can benefit your judgment. Where do you want to pay more attention?
