Overview of the Catalytic Thinking Labs

Our organization is committed to supporting those who are taking up the serious work of healing and strengthening our societies.

This website makes available “guided self-education” for individuals and small groups to work together on issues they care about. The ideas and presentations have been tested in organizations globally and were foundational in the GreenMBA, an accredited masters degree at Dominican University of California, designed to transform business – not perpetuate it.

The cost of high quality professional education can be a serious burden to those trying to initiate the scope of changes needed today. In the USA, debt often accompanies those motivated and courageous people who are striving. Their future earnings are tapped to pay off the debt. This limits their ability to innovate and work with more freedom.

This site, CatalyticThinkingLabs.org is made as a service at no cost to those who want to take up this level of learning, within their organizations or communities – or individually. Many high school and college students, as well as “regular working people” will find that each Lab offers insights into “how the world works.” Each Lab has an engaging activity to dig in, practicing immediately on your immediate issues.

The ideas are not “dumbed down” but they are offered without jargon, simply explained, and highlighted by colorful chalkboards illustrating the connections of ideas. There are 112 Labs organized in four Arenas.

Teachers and faculty in education could adapt individual labs to their course content and build capacity in Applied Critical Thinking and Self-Knowledge. A specific Lab could be partnered with course content. In this way, skill-building is supported by direct instruction in thinking, itself.
