Navigating Complex Issues require new thinking capacities. With complex issues it can be difficult to know how to engage or act. The perceived messiness of the issues can lead to frustration and overwhelm. Complex issues cannot be treated as problems that can be fixed or solved. We need new mental tools. Systemic thinking is a disciplined practice that bridges Living Systems Thinking, Experiential Knowledge Sharing, Chaos, and Complexity Theory. Systemic perception and thinking methods are counter-intuitive (they don’t focus on solving a problem). Systemic thinking is a rational path to improve our position over time in relationship to navigating complex issues.
