Activity 1 – Focus on Participant Experience

Step 1

Break into groups of three. Take a large piece of paper and fold it in half.

 

Label the two sides: Meeting 1 | Meeting 2.

 

Step 2

Design two meetings, in terms of Process, Culture, and Content. What is going to happen during these 1-hour meetings? How will you reinforce and strengthen what takes place and emerges from the meeting? Bring in a consciousness of how much thinking you are asking people to do. How much and what qualities of feeling, care, compassion, commitment and enthusiasm are people able to bring? What are they actually doing or creating with their colleagues?

 

Step 3

Define, with your group, what you can do to improve your meeting. Whose job is this, to design more effective meetings?
