Activity 1 – Accelerating Knowledge Sharing

Each Catalytic Thinking Lab is supported by a WindTunneling project. WindTunneling is a systemic methodology to accelerate learning and knowledge sharing. Share what you learned from the lab transparently and anonymously. Compare your thinking and respond to the ideas of others. Everyone gets to see every idea; no one knows who shared which idea.

Go to WindTunneling. Use Project Code 52SKAH  to record your insights.

Activity 2 – Knowledge Mapping

Create a knowledge map to build on the questions during the group discussion in the lab.

What areas of management are my favorites?
What areas of management can I deepen and develop?
What are the relationships or patterns that I see between the Personal, Professional, and Community areas of my management?
How can I better support others on my team or in my organization by becoming a better manager?

List the strategies you can pursue. How will you know if you are successful?

Activity 3 – Core Concept Expansion

Identify 2-3 core concepts, key words, that were introduced in the lab. Begin to expand the concepts using the Concept Expansion Technique.

1. Write out the Lexical or Dictionary Definition and Etymology (optional)
2. What is the opposite word?
3. What is a synonym of the word? How are they different?
4. How is this word used (and/or mis-used) in professional settings
5. What is your first memory (or earliest feeling impression) of the word?
6. What is the colloquial (everyday common) use of the word?
7. Does the word evoke a color, shape, image, or heat (feeling)?

Engage with at least one other person to discuss these concepts and their implications. What are related concepts?  What is unique?  How does precision in word-smithing build clarity and strength for our work?  Write a paragraph or bulleted list.
