ACTIVITY 1     Accelerating Knowledge Sharing

Each Catalytic Thinking Lab is supported by a WindTunneling project. WindTunneling is a systemic methodology to accelerate learning and knowledge sharing. Share what you learned from the lab transparently and anonymously. Compare your thinking and respond to the ideas of others. Everyone gets to see every idea; no one knows who shared which idea.

Go to WindTunneling. Use Project Code 77NCAD to record your insights.

ACTIVITY 2     Create a Mini-Project

Create a mini-project based on the ideas in this topic.

Begin with an observation / perception of a current situation. Articulate an idea for improvement and why you think it will help. Make sure it can be accomplished (or begun) with the resources you have or can bring to bear within the time frame you establish.

What is the idea?
How would it work?
Why would it matter?
Where is there likely to be support for implementation?

Identify the resources (time, support, new information, etc) you will need.
Articulate in 30-60 seconds, to others what you intend to accomplish and why.

Review the timeline and resources and make time targets or benchmarks.
Make notes of your progress and hindrances as you progress.
Adapt as needed.
At the conclusion, write a one-page summary that synthesizes your learning.

ACTIVITY 3     Short Essay

How does your organization currently generate and examine future scenarios? How are these scenarios tested and implemented as strategy? How does that process compare to what you explored in the activity? 3 paragraphs.
