ACTIVITY 1  Rich Picturing: Conversation Mapping

Step 1

Create a conversation map with 6-8 people.

Determine the seed idea for the map. It can be a word, a statement; it should not be a question. Generate a seed that is relevant to something in your organization.

Write the statement in the center of the map and circle it.

Step 2

Create your conversation map.

Step 3

When it is filled out, switch into the new role of investigative journalist.

What do you see in the map? Begin with clustering the ideas. Use sticky notes to help identify clusters.

Identify themes, emergent ideas, and patterns. Record these on an easel, whiteboard, or another sheet of paper.
