Beyond Control
Introduction
Explore two contrasting worldviews. Worldview #1 leads with control. Worldview #2 leads beyond control. Worldview #1 leaders expect to be in control of everything going on in the workplace. These leaders expect others to regard them as the authority figure. Not being in control is seen as a weakness. Worldview #2 leaders recognize the complexity and interconnected reality of the world. They realize that they are not in control of everything going on that doesn’t mean they are powerless or insignificant. Unassuming leaders expect to influence and expand their influence through their behavior.
