Activity 1 – Accelerating Knowledge Sharing

Each Catalytic Thinking Lab is supported by a WindTunneling project. WindTunneling is a systemic methodology to accelerate learning and knowledge sharing. Share what you learned from the lab transparently and anonymously. Compare your thinking and respond to the ideas of others. Everyone gets to see every idea; no one knows who shared which idea.

Go to WindTunneling. Use Project Code 52SKT to record your insights.

Activity 2 – Self-Reflection

Set aside 30 minutes to self-reflect on your engagement with the ideas and your cohort.  What understandings are you taking forward?  What skills or practices can you see now that would be useful?  How can you continue to practice so that this becomes part of who you are becoming?  Identify clearly what is different now, for you, after completing this topic.  Do you have new choices?  If you have little or nothing to take forward, how do you explain this?  What might be the implications?

Activity 3 – Core Concept Expansion

Identify 2-3 core concepts, key words, that were introduced in the presentation. Begin to expand the concepts using the Concept Expansion Technique.

1. Write out the Lexical or Dictionary Definition and Etymology (optional)
2. What is the opposite word?
3. What is a synonym of the word? How are they different?
4. How is this word used (and/or mis-used) in professional settings
5. What is your first memory (or earliest feeling impression) of the word?
6. What is the colloquial (everyday common) use of the word?
7. Does the word evoke a color, shape, image, or heat (feeling)?

Engage with at least one other person to discuss these concepts and their implications. What are related concepts?  What is unique?  How does precision in word-smithing build clarity and strength for our work?  Write a paragraph or bulleted list.
