Activity 1 – Accelerating Knowledge Sharing

Each Catalytic Thinking Lab is supported by a WindTunneling project. WindTunneling is a systemic methodology to accelerate learning and knowledge sharing. Share what you learned from the lab transparently and anonymously. Compare your thinking and respond to the ideas of others. Everyone gets to see every idea; no one knows who shared which idea.

Go to WindTunneling. Use Project Code 44DSV  to record your insights.

Activity 2 – Teaching as Learning

Create a 5-10 minute presentation to teach a co-worker about the Diffusion Curve and group characteristics that affect the rate of adoption. Focus your presentation on the primary product or service your organization offers. In your presentation, identify the people that fit each of the categories and identify where your product is in relationship to the bell-curve overall.

Give your presentation first to your partner that you worked with in the lab. Ask them for feedback about the clarity of your presentation. How could you improve your presentation? Make refinements and then teach this to someone who was not in the lab. Ask them what they learned and if there were any points they didn’t understand. Reflect on your two presentations, write 1-2 paragraphs reflecting on what you learned.

Activity 3 – Mapping the Adoption Curve

Make a knowledge map showing the adoption curve and group category characteristics – just like you did for the activity in the lab. You will use this knowledge map as a visual aid in conjunction with the Teaching as Learning activity below.
