Activity 1 – Accelerating Knowledge Sharing

Each Catalytic Thinking Lab is supported by a WindTunneling project. WindTunneling is a systemic methodology to accelerate learning and knowledge sharing. Share what you learned from the lab transparently and anonymously. Compare your thinking and respond to the ideas of others. Everyone gets to see every idea; no one knows who shared which idea.

Go to WindTunneling. Use Project Code 23ACAK to record your insights.

Activity 2 – Crafting Effective Statements

Continue working with your Speed Stating map. Originally you stated a vulnerability, which is a potential problem or challenge for your organization. People responded with ways, opportunities, to address this.

Practice writing effective statements. Revise your Problem Statement with any of the techniques you have learned. Rewrite the comments on the map into simple sentence structure Opportunity Statements.

Circle Core Concepts. Due a Core Concept Expansion for at least three words from different statements. Revise the Opportunity Statements.

Practice building an inference bank with your vulnerability statement. If that vulnerability is true, then what? Potentially revise your problem statement. Build an inference bank for one of the Opportunity Statements. Revise.

Activity 3 – Synthesis and Self-Reflection

Referring to your Speed Stating map, based on the comments from others, would you now revise your original statement? Why or why not?

What did you learn about vulnerability and resilience in your organization?

Considering everything you have learned so far studying Applied Critical Thinking, what next step would you take to think about opportunities to address the vulnerability you identified?

Write 2-4 paragraphs.
