Activity 1 – Accelerating Knowledge Sharing
Each Catalytic Thinking Lab is supported by a WindTunneling project. WindTunneling is a systemic methodology to accelerate learning and knowledge sharing. Share what you learned from the lab transparently and anonymously. Compare your thinking and respond to the ideas of others. Everyone gets to see every idea; no one knows who shared which idea.
Go to WindTunneling. Use Project Code 23ACAB to record your insights.
Activity 2 – Core Concept Expansion
Strengthen your approach to the 6Cs Validity and Truth Test by deepening your understanding of each of these concepts: Contortion, Clear/Clarity, Context, Consistent, Comprehensive, Coherent. You can do this on a big sheet of paper, like a knowledge map, or you can write it out in sentence format.
- Write out the Lexical or Dictionary Definition and Etymology (optional)
- What is the opposite word?
- What is a synonym of the word? How are they different?
- How is this word used (and/or mis-used) in professional settings
- What is your first memory (or earliest feeling impression) of the word?
- What is the colloquial (everyday common) use of the word?
- Does the word evoke a color, shape, image, or heat (feeling)?
Activity 3 – 6Cs Validity and Truth Test – Current Events
Pick a contentious issue from current events in society, at your workplace or at home. Make a knowledge map to explore the 6Cs as they relate to your perspective.
- Contorted: who paid benefits from this and who paid for it?
- Clear: Is it understandable? Can you explain it?
- Coherence: Does it stick together with other facts?
- Comprehensive: is the whole truth present?
- Context: Does the fact fit the context?
- Consistent: Does it fit with your experience and other facts?
