Activity 1 – Accelerating Knowledge Sharing

Each Catalytic Thinking Lab is supported by a WindTunneling project. WindTunneling is a systemic methodology to accelerate learning and knowledge sharing. Share what you learned from the lab transparently and anonymously. Compare your thinking and respond to the ideas of others. Everyone gets to see every idea; no one knows who shared which idea.

Go to WindTunneling. Use Project Code 52SKE to record your insights.

Activity 2 – Exploring Rewards in Advertising

How does your industry (profession or workplace) use sticks and carrots in advertising? What might happen if the industry stopped using rewards to manipulate customers?

Based on what you are learning, write a short essay / blog post (3-5 paragraphs) exploring this issue.

Activity 3 – Teaching as Learning

Create a 3-5 minutes presentation to teach a colleague the difference between extrinsic and intrinsic motivation. Make a visual diagram to support your presentation. You can use the chalkboard as a reference. Identify 2-3 examples of each kind of motivation. Find examples from your workplace, current events, or your personal experience. Repeat.
