Changing Your Story

Step 1

Craft a new story about yourself. On a large sheet of paper draw a story bubble. Inside the bubble write out all of the elements of your current story when you meet someone new.

Step 2

In the story bubble, there could be an assortment of pieces of a story that you typically tell.

Imagine the new you with a different story. You are still pulling from your memory and experience set. What is also true that can create a picture of the you that you are striving to become?

Step 3

Draw another story bubble and write out the threads of the new story. The new threads might be more empowering, capable, dynamic, effective or loving. These threads are true but that are not part of your current story.

Step 4

Practice telling your new story with a partner.
