Aligning with Our Human Nature

ACTIVITY 2  Organizational Integration and Balance Audit

Step 1

In small groups (3-4 people), audit your organization’s integration and balance with human nature. The same principles and frameworks can bring health and vitality to our organizations. Create a map that makes a picture of thinking, feeling, and willing in the organization.

 

Have a conversation exploring these three dimensions as they relate to your organizational life. How are you aligning your human nature with your organization?

Step 2

The goal of the audit is to explore how these dimensions can inform your understanding of what is happening in the organization.

How can your organization be more healthy?
How can your organization strive for morality that is balanced?
How can you create self-organizing vitality?
Where are your opportunities to build rhythm into your organizational life?
Rhythm is in us, in our bodies, but rarely shows up as a conscious design element?

 

Step 3

On the edge of the map, identify ways you can strengthen your thinking, feeling, and/or willing. Identify ways you can strengthen your opportunity to perceive more of what is going on in your environment or your organization.

 

Step 4

Post all of the maps on the wall. Study them as a group. Discuss insights. What are your opportunities to align human nature?
