ACTIVITY 1     Accelerating Knowledge Sharing

Each Catalytic Thinking Lab is supported by a WindTunneling project. WindTunneling is a systemic methodology to accelerate learning and knowledge sharing. Share what you learned from the lab transparently and anonymously. Compare your thinking and respond to the ideas of others. Everyone gets to see every idea; no one knows who shared which idea.

Go to WindTunneling. Use Project Code 23ACAE to record your insights.

ACTIVITY 2     Techniques for Discovering Diverse Perspectives

Use any three of these techniques to enhance your understanding of relevant points of view related to Opportunity Statements on your 3-column map. You can use additional techniques that are not on this list. Try techniques that are new to you or less developed.

Formal or Informal Interviews

Internet Research (blogs, websites, organizations, businesses)

What did you learn?

ACTIVITY 3     Considering Relevant Points of View with a Partner

Work with a partner from the lab. Choose an Opportunity Statement and related Higher Purpose from your organization. Write these as simple sentences at the top of your paper. Underneath, make three columns: Stakeholders | Opposition | Others

List who may have a Relevant Point of View about the statements from these three perspectives. What might people think and why? Record the different Points of View.

Refine Statements
Working independently, for each Point of View, write a concise Opportunity Statement from that person’s perspective. Perhaps you have discovered that a person has a different Higher Purpose – you can rewrite a new Higher Purpose for that point of view with a new Opportunity Statement. If you discover that the person perceives the problem differently, write a concise Problem Statement.

Discuss these new statements with a partner.
What do you see? What questions come up for you?
