Near and True Gifts

Explore Duane Elgin’s work on Near and True Gifts. Each person has unique gifts and capacities to contribute to the world. Near Gifts are skills, talents, aptitudes that come to us naturally and often generate income. In contrast, True Gifts are the answer to the questions “Why am I here? What am I here to do?” This is a very different question from “What am I good at?” The more time we spend in our True Gifts, the more satisfied and centered we are. True Gifts invite us to consciously focus on larger, more expansive aspects of our lives.

“Find something that is significant, that you are uniquely qualified to do…
and then do it.”

~ Buckminster Fuller
